The Beauty Section

Based on the narrative style of title sequences, the goal of this project was to make something mundane feel extraordinary. I chose a task that is very routine for many women: putting on makeup. Inspiration was drawn from the beauty section of magazines, where there are often tips about makeup application and product recommendations. The idea was to bring magazines to life through the footage. Products were the "stars" and provided the typographic content to play with. Makeup allowed for a texture study and an elaborate color palette.
As an introduction to motion design, this project allowed for experimentation in combining videography with typography.
